Dear Parents/Carers
I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused by my decision to close the school today. I fully appreciate that most of you will need to be in work yourselves, and I do appreciate the difficulty school closures cause in this regard. Many thanks in advance for your understanding.
However, travel conditions in the local area were simply not safe earlier this morning and when coach companies are reluctant to take to the roads, we have to take note of that.
In addition, the site is quite unsafe as the snow has frozen to ice overnight on all pathways.
I have asked staff to work from home today and the first priority is the setting of homework for all students via Show My Homework. Consequently, I can see already that a good deal has been posted. Your sons and daughters will clearly have plenty to do to keep them up to date with their studies, if not today then certainly over the weekend.
I hope that, in these difficult circumstances at least, this facility will help all our students to keep ‘Putting Learning First’ even when the school building is not accessible.
We sincerely hope to be open on Monday as usual. Please look out for further updates over the weekend on the school website.
Kind Regards,
Mr Holroyd
