Year 9 Options Evening Wednesday 9th March 2022

Year 9 Options Evening – Wednesday 9th March

Dear Parent / Carer,

Our annual year 9 “Options Evening” event is set to take place on Wednesday 9th March. During this evening there will be an overview presentation about the options process, after which you will be able to visit five short presentations from subject teachers of optional subjects. I would strongly encourage all year 9 students to attend with one or both parents, as the evening can help students choose subjects that set them on the right path for the following two years and beyond!

To help manage our limited space within the school, and ensure that no rooms are overcrowded given the current situation with Covid-19, this year I am asking all parents to fill in a booking form before attending to indicate which subjects you would like to visit on the evening (this does not have to be the subjects that your son/daughter is planning to choose, though you may well wish to see these presentations).

BOOKING FORM: https://forms.gle/4zZECsstnWaVjNhL9

I will use your responses to create a timetable for each visitor which we will provide to you upon arrival at the event. For this reason, it would be helpful if you could arrive a little before 6pm, so that you can collect your timetable and be ready for a prompt 6pm start for the main presentation. The event finishes at 8pm.

  • If you are not able to arrive in time for the main presentation, but could arrive by 6:20, then please do so. You’ll miss the main presentation but will still be able to visit subjects.
  • If you would rather not attend the live event due to the risks associated with the pandemic (or for any other reason), you can view videos produced about the options last year on the page called “Virtual Options Evening 2021”: https://langtreeschool.com/category/students/year-9-options/ . I will also share my main presentation slideshow after the evening event.

If you have any further questions about the evening please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected]

Yours sincerely,
