Transition Events for Rising Year 7’s

Transition Events for Rising Year 7’s September 2026:

  • Parents’ Transition Workshops: 9th & 16th June at 6-8pm and 10th June at 9.30-11.30am, . This is a workshop for Parents only (no children) to discuss hopes and expectations and to find out more about life at Langtree. Please book a place using this FORM
  • ‘Singles’ Session 25th June 9.30-10.30am. This is an additional opportunity for children who are coming from their primary school alone to meet other students in the same situation.  If you would like your child to attend this, please complete this FORM
  • ‘New Beginnings’ 23rd June at 9.30am-12.00pm. This is a workshop for specific and invited Yr 6 students who may need additional support with their transition. Mrs Belcher will liaise with Year 6 teachers to discuss whether this group is suitable for your child to attend. If you feel there is a need for your child to attend, please contact Mrs Belcher directly.
  • Taster Day – 30th June 8.30-3pm. This is the day where all students joining us in September come to spend a day at Langtree School. Parents are requested to drop their children off 8.30am.  There will be a number of senior students on the day to meet and greet your child/ren.  Please collect them at the end of the school day (3pm).  Your child is welcome to use the canteen at break and lunchtime (approx £5) or bring a packed lunch. They should wear their current school uniform.  A list of equipment that your child will be required to bring on this day will be emailed to you nearer the time.
  • New Parents Coffee Morning 14th July 11am-12pm. Come along and meet other new parents, representatives of the PTA and Mrs Belcher, Head of Transition, Years 7 & 8.
  • Secondhand Uniform Sale 14th July 10.30am – 12pm
  • Welcome Evening 20th July 6pm. An important event where your child will meet their tutor and other tutees for the first time.  Key members of staff will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have.
  • Primary School visits by Mrs Belcher, Head of Year, will begin in term 6.
  • 2nd September 2026 – first day of term for Year 7’s
